Two people cycling down a country roadOn a visit to a new city you can most likely find all kinds of tours to take—historical tours, food tours, art tours, restaurant tours, museum tours, and more. Here in Vermont, a state that is famous for its dairies, maple syrup, lakes, and lush forests, also offers visitors all kinds of tours and one of the most unique ones is close by in Bristol, VT—the Tour de Farms. It’s especially for those who love cycling and it’s coming up September 18, 2016 so keep reading for all of the details!

The Tour de Farms in the beautiful rolling farmland of Addison County is one of Vermont’s oldest cycling farm tours. If you aren’t familiar with a farm tour, it is as simple as the name explains—you cycle a route that takes you on a tour of various farms!

There are two routes in this Tour de Farms—the standard 30-mile route and then an easier, family-friendly mile route that is 14 miles long. The 30-mile route will feature 9 different farm stops and the shorter route will have 4 stops. This tour is so unique due to the fact that so many local businesses support and get involved in this event. There are over 25 local farms, businesses and restaurants that will be participating. Sample all kinds of local products from Vermont’s cheddar cheese to delicious smoothies made from freshly picked organic fruit. Along the way if you find products you just have to purchase for yourself, there will be a convenient concierge van that will deliver your purchases to the finish line.

Tickets are $40 for adults and $20 for students 18 and under. You can also get a farm bus ticket for $45 for those who choose not to ride—experience the scenery and farm stops from the comfort of a bus! There is early bird pricing and some tickets are limited so check the tour website for further details. You’ll want to hang around afterwards for the Tour de Farms After Party for some delicious food truck fare, free Farmhouse ice cream for riders, a variety of beverages for sale, and some fantastic live music.

Our bed and breakfast is a mere 20 minutes from the tour venue and we’d love to host riders and friends and family coming in for this event. We’ve got beautiful suites, a full gourmet breakfast, amazing scenery, and all of the peace and tranquility you need to make a getaway complete—book online today!
