Maple Leaf Inn
There is a reason autumn is so popular here in Vermont—the weather is near perfect and the scenery is even more spectacular than normal. So pack your bags and hop in your car for a tour through the beautiful countryside (and a stay at the Inn, of course!). You’re in for a treat.
One of the most popular drives through Vermont begins right here on Route 12. Head north past Silver Lake to Highway 107 and go west, which will take you over hill and dale and through the hamlet of Gaysville. A little further on, the road meets up with Highway 100. This scenic route, one of the prettiest in the Vermont, goes through Pittsfield, an iconic Vermont town. Stop here at The Original General Store to pick up some old-fashioned penny candy or made-in-Vermont products.
Back on the road heading south, you’ll come to Killington, popular in the winter for its fabulous skiing. If you’re in town the weekend of September 30-October 1, 2016, you can sample beer at the Killington Brewfest!
Just south of Killington, take a left onto Highway 4 and head to Woodstock, a great spot for a late lunch or mid-afternoon snack. (Ask us for our favorites places to go!). At Woodstock, you meet back up with Highway 12 and a short drive back to the Inn. We’ll be waiting for you with refreshments and homemade cookies!
