Red Hill Inn

Bailey, our resident chocolate lab used to enjoy greeting our guests. Sadly, we lost her on April 10, 2015. The good news is that Bella has arrived. Bella is our new resident pup. She was born August 20, 2015 and looks forward to meeting all of you.Come experience life on the hill. If you’re looking for a friendly gathering place, romantic getaway, or just a place to relax, you will find it on Red Hill Road. The Inn at Red Hill is a retreat that combines cozy, vintage style with modern luxuries and amenities. Our two comfortable guest rooms tastefully decorated with a mix of vintage antiques (some of which can be purchased) and eclectic finds that have been collected locally and on our travels. Each room has a queen bed, private bath, and private entrance.

Each morning you can choose to enjoy breakfast inside or on the back deck overlooking the forest. Freshly prepared, hot breakfast will be served between 8:00-9:30 a.m. If our schedule doesn’t meet your needs, coffee, baked goods and a limited selection of fresh fruit are available for early or late risers. Whenever possible, locally grown foods will be used. If you have special dietary needs, let us know when making your reservation and we will accommodate them.

Breakfast and afternoon snacks are served in our central gathering room. This space is perfect for workshops, evening social gatherings or small business meetings. Feel free to cozy-up to the warmth of our gas fireplace or watch TV as you relax after a busy day. For your enjoyment, an afternoon snack is offered daily. Baked goodies, along with beverages are served in the Gathering Room or Coffee Bar. A hot beverage machine will be available in the gathering room all day for your convenience.

The House was built in 1999 as a private residence on 3.3 wooded acres on top of a mountain ridge that is rich in civil war history. It is a colonial style structure with a picturesque view of the Antietam Battlefield. The National Wildlife Federation has recognized our grounds as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat, a perfect place for bird watching, a morning stroll or just a place to wind down.

Cindy’s passion for flowers is reflected in the abundant gardens surrounding the Inn. Changing with each season, the gardens are dotted with whimsical flea market finds, while perennials, roses, and butterfly bushes create a mix of color to enjoy.

The deck is a perfect place to enjoy your breakfast or an afternoon snack. Relax in the hammock with a good book or just enjoy the woods that surround you. Guests are rewarded with beautiful sunsets at dusk, and stargazing opportunities abound as night time settles on Red Hill. Pick out a cozy rocking chair on the front porch and enjoy a peaceful sunrise or native birds feeding. On a summer afternoon, retreat to the cool shade for an iced cold drink.

The hill out back is terraced with field stone dry- stacked walls providing a level space to garden and maintain the slope. Because of the steep slope, this area is for viewing only. On a quiet morning you can catch a white- tailed doe and her fawn having breakfast on the back terrace. Just listen for the rustling of the leaves and you’ll know she’s there. Bluebirds, cardinals, goldfinch, and pileated woodpeckers live in the area and visit our inn frequently. Wild turkeys visit too.
